where craft becomes art

Recording Basic Tracks - When recording the rhythm section, the group performs all the songs for the project, live, including a guide vocal track. Each instrument is recorded on separate tracks.<more>

Recording.org Over Dubs - After basic tracks have been recorded for all the songs, reviewed and approved, additional tracks are added. Over Dub: lead vocals, background vocals, horns, strings, Hammond, additional guitars,  keyboards, and finally percussion. (usually in this general order)

Mixing - Once all the tracks have been recorded for all the songs, the next step is to mix. Mixing is the process of blending all the individual tracks to two track stereo or 5.1 surround. <more>

Mastering - After all the songs have been mixed, they need to be edited into the final song order. EQ and Gain may need adjusting from song to song, to even out and tweak the over-all tone and loudness of the record. The space between songs are adjusted to reflect the mood of the song content. Mastering allows us to put that last bit of polish on the gem. <more>

Surround Sound Mixing - Experience the magic of Surround Sound, 5.1 mixing. Discrete, Dolby and DTS formats. Mix to picture for DVD and video.

MIDI - Transfer your MIDI file sound module tracks to .wav files in preparation for overdubs and mix.
